Yarny Cakes

Recycled 100% cotton yarn
i know i keep saying this, but i really need to break down and buy a scale. i have no idea how much yarn i have, but i hope it's enough. i still need to skein and wash the yarn to get out the kinks. this tutorial should come in handy. man, recycling sweaters makes a mess. there's little grey yarny bits all over my living room.

and that is all for today.

  1. It makes a total mess, but it is worth it in the end!

  2. I have the Salter Digital scale and it's the best! Worth every penny. Especially with the 20% off coupon at Bed, Bath & Beyond. :D

  3. Cotton?

I can't help you with the scale, mine is "borrowed" from work, but I can say, they're totally worth it.

  5. Do you know anyone who has a lab job? They tend to have fabulously accurate scales there.

  6. We both made yarny cakes today!
I don't intend to skein and wash. I rationalize this by saying that the wool was never blocked or washed in sweater form. ;-) I had purple fuzz all over me when I deconstructed my sweater.
I have a Salter Digital I got from the Baker's Catalog. I use it for cooking and yarn. It's flat and stainless steel. I use it a lot more than I ever thought I would.
