Yay, i won a contest!

Wollmeise
i won Kris's birthday contest. she was giving away skeins of wollmeise, and i won the superwash sock yarn. go visit her blog, Bockstark Knits. look at all the beautiful things people are making with this yarn at the flickr group.

it occurred to me that i should really button down and finish some projects. here is the ripple stitch crochet handtowel i was working on. i caught the ripple bug looking at all the lovely blankets at the ripple-along, but the last thing i need is to start another afghan.
Crochet ripple handtowel
i used an I hook and kitchen cotton. the stitch pattern is from the handy ol' readers digest encyclopedia of knitting and crochet stitches. i think it's called the shallow chevron, or something like that.

i also finished knitting the anthropologie capelet, but i still need to weave in ends, wash, and block.

i'm hoping to finish a few more things before my 20 skeins of elann sonata get here and i forget about everything but miters. i think warm-weather knitting is going to be all about making stuff for my house. i'm just not excited to knit clothing right now.

thanks for all the comments on babette. she is washed and blocked and now lives on my couch, hopefully for many years to come.

  2. Oh my gosh your lucky to win that yarn! I will love to watch your mitered square afghan coming along. I have had that Mason Dixon book checked out of the library for so long = late fees, I could have bought it by now........its in there also. And of course I want it. I can't wait!
