42.

it's 04/20, which for whatever reason reminds me of the answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything.

btw, i have all the books in one volume, but i never quite made it all the way through Mostly Harmless. maybe someday.

anyway, i'm in a giving mood today. remember this?
Modified Sophie bag from magknits

The bag is going to Bezzie, as per dkswife's request. thanks for playing!

  1. 42...The age that I'll be in 12 years. And I'll still be a rockstar in my own mind!!!!

  2. Isn't 42 a TV show about a dslyexic federal agent who goes around blowing up the good guys instead of the bad guys?

  3. well, I am 42 (boo hoo!!!) and I do believe it was also Fox Mulder's apartment number......not coincidentally.

  4. 42...the age I was 12 years ago. Wasn't a rock star then and certainly am not one now!

  5. Pretty purse, very generous of you to give it away. Now the number 42...the number of things I'll probably try to shove into that little purse...or the number of times I'll trip over my dogs today...then of course there are the 42 times I'll frog the lace pattern before its right (accompanied by 42 wacks to the head for my stupidity)...and the number of times I can hop on my left foot before falling over.

  6. I will be 42 in 2008. Damn! I'm getting old!

  7. 42 is the size I wish my bust was. (IRL it is bigger) Then maybe more sweater patterns would fit me... sigh...

  8. I think that 42 is the precise number of bottles of beer left on the wall when you go from "Don't make me stop this car" to crying children on the side of the road during family vacation season.

  9. It is sooooooo very tempting to leave enough comments to get to 42. Ahem. I am so going to reread those books. I don't think I've read that last one though. That bag is really pretty. Was it difficult to make? I'm a beginner knitter and have NEVER tried to felt anything.

  10. 42.... The number of times I'm going to smack the client I'm working for upside the head for being so dumb.

  11. So I can comment 39 more times and win it? I'm certainly not above it...

  12. 42... a TV show I would be more likely to watch than 24. (The world needs more Douglas Adams.)

  13. of course you guys can pad the comments. that's exactly what i am doing right now.

i can't recall if the bag was easy, because i knit and felt it ages ago and only recently installed the lining and zipper. but i'm guessing it was pretty easy.

  14. Well, if that is the case, I should post again...

  15. And just one more time for right now that is! :-)

  17. I bet you used one of the 300 zippers you purchased, eh?

  18. It really isn't important for me to "win" the bag.

  19. MOF, if I happen to win it, can I request it get sent to someone else?

  20. Cuz that's the way I am. There is someone that I think really deserves the bag that has commented already.

  21. She is damn cool and would look good carrying the bag around.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I'll give you a clue as to who I would like the bag sent to if I am the "winner".

  23. She always has a funny story to tell.

  24. Most all the time she tries to make lemonade out of the lemons.

  25. MOF I nominated her for a blogger's choice award.

    ReplyDelete
  26. But I am pretty sure she doesn't know about it yet.

  27. Good grief, I am the only one posting comments. Maybe I should feel bad about this.

  37. Just two or three more comments.

Have I ever told you how nice and generous you are? If not, you are.

  38. If I had the spare cash I would personally buy you the TT yarn that you want for SKB. Seriously. If I win the lotto, the yarn is yours girly.

  39. oooh, i LUV this bag, too bad there's already been over 42 comments. :-p that colorway is just divine and the lining you chose just complements the 'classy' factor of the bag.

anywho, the number 42 means a lot to me. by the time i'm that age, i hope it means that i'll be in more of a managerial role. in general, it's a number that's often overlooked. wish i had some more philosophical things to say!

also, i agree with you about the costs of yarn and overall happiness as a knitter. it's ultimately up to the knitter, but you've got to do what makes you happy! :-D if it means spending a little more or getting the best deal, go for it....but you've gotta think about your overall satisfaction with the completed garment too. with time, i'm more in the middle of the road. either way, i figure i'm doing my part to keep my local yarn shops open! :-D
