Sahara, Day 4

Sahara, Day 4
No Day 3 progress shot, because i only knit an inch or so. i'm ready to start the short-row hem shaping. i tried it on last night and it's pretty tight. like ms. marigold tight. i'm a little pained. i hope that the silk stretches as much as advertised. i won't be able to finish this before my fearless fibers package arrives. since my pal's socks take priority, i hope i don't get stuck on the dreaded Sleeve Island on Sahara and never finish it. because there's a very good possibility that it could happen. just ask BPT.

  1. Well in the pattern pic, Sahara looks pretty snug too. At least your's won't be baggy!
I'm hung up at 1/2 of a sleeve on my sweater right now, so I know your plight.

  2. If anything, silk stretches MORE than advertised. I'm wearing a Simple Knitted Bodice with a neckline that started out very modestly halfway between my collarbone and cleavage, and is now hanging out in the risque bra band area. That silk is gorgeous, by the way.

  4. Snug is good, baggy is bad with a pattern like that, I think. If you wear something underneath, it won't be too risque.

Also, silk is heavy and stretchy. It may yet stretch out (though I've mostly seen it stretch length-wise).
