and another one

a grouping of gifted presents, that is. this is the coworker set.

Calorimetry from knitty
Calorimetry from knitty, alpaca/silk blend whose name currently escapes me in a light sage color. i believe i used #8 denise circs and cast on 80 stitches. i also did fewer short-row repeats--i think 12. it appears that the mods make it fit perfectly. i, like others, believe that the pattern as written is pretty off except for those with ginormous noggins. i want one too.

Turkish String Bag
Turkish String Bag, lionbrand kitchen cotton in natural, #13 denise circs. i made the bag and the handle a little shorter than the pattern specifies, as i assumed that the stretchiness would be a factor. i tried it out, and it holds a lot of stuff--perfect for the farmer's market. i want one too.

Curly Whirly Scarf
Curly Whirly scarf, knitpicks crayon in purple, just over one skein. i believe i used a J crochet hook. i made a longish crochet chain, did a row of double crochet, doubled the stitch count with another row of treble crochet, and doubled again with a final row of treble crochet. i already have one like this.

AND my mom gave me the knitpicks options set for xmas! i am so excited to use them, right after i finish my two lingering socks. actually i think my first post-xmas project might be another pair of knee socks in white cascade fixation. i have a kill bill party to host, and i'd love to whip out a pair for my costume. i don't know if it'll actually happen though.

  1. Nice stuff! I love the Options I've bought so far, they work fantastically. I like the string bag idea, may have to try that sometime.

  2. You've been productive! I haven't tried Calorimetry yet, mostly because I apparently have a small head. Didn't know this until I bought a vintage hat and it kept falling off. I'm glad I'm not the only one without a huge noggin!
