i need a nap.

but first, a quick 2 FOs.

Short Row Hat from Interweave Knits
short row hat seam
Short-Row hat from interweave knits. patons SWS in natural navy, slightly over one skein, #8 inox circs. i did not do the icord top. i liked this pattern--fun to knit and quick. i am not thrilled about the hat seam, but it isn't terrible. i also liked the yarn, though it was a bit splitty. my gauge was a little off so i had to fold up the hat brim, but no harm no foul. it's too large on Wiggy, but it fits me ok.

Burda WOF 12/2005, #111 top
Burda #111 top back
next up, burda wof 12/2005, #111 top. i used the RAK silk from biffd. i made the 36" size. the instructions for the waistband and ties were less than clear. i got really confused and still am not certain i did it right. also i hated handsewing the cowl neck. mostly i am dissatisfied because the top is too large. i don't think i would've been able to get the top on if it were any smaller, but i don't like the way it sags on my body. also the cowl is very low and prone to too much exposure.

my attempt at creating an outfit
here's my attempt at an outfit. i'll probably wear it at least once.

now for those zzz's.

  1. I think the top is cute and I do hope you get to wear it once or twice. I like the hat, too. (reading back to older posts) I had real problems with pooling on the calf part of my koigu socks, and alternating yarns every row only sort of helped. But yours looks a lot better than mine, mine basically had all the colors lined up in columns.

Good luck if you decide to do gift knitting, but don't take on too much ;-)

  2. Very nice! I especially like the blouse, I don't think it looks too large at all.
