Linda Evans ain't got nothin' on me

I got a couple of new patterns over the weekend. I made Simplicity 4020, View E, last night.

I used some tan cotton jersey my mom gave me. I sewed in a contrasting dark brown thread because i did not have matching thread. i made a size 10 as written, except that i did a 1/2 inch hem on the bottom and a 1 inch hem on the sleeves.

Here's a shot of the back. I think in the future I need to make the bodice portion in a smaller size, because the bust doesn't seem to fit where it is supposed to. Also, I think that this top would look much better in a print fabric with longer sleeves. at the very least, it would look more kimono and less Dynasty.

At any rate, I'm ok with how this turned out, but I feel a little off wearing it. the color and the style don't feel like me. at least it only took me a couple of hours to sew.

  1. I've finally got your Rowan magazine, I'll send it out this afternoon or tomorrow am! I LOVE that top... if only I knew how to use my sewing machine!

  2. I love the top, but agree, it would probably look cooler in another color.

You're making me want to get out my sewing machine again!
