Simple Blouse finished

Simple Blouse #6 from Simple Chic, cotton stash fabric from Mom, largest size. I can't read Japanese so i have no idea what the instructions say. i had to wing the facings. i made my own bias tape for the armhole and neck facings. this was also the first time i ever used the zigzag stitch on my machine. the pattern is quite short--i had to make a very narrow hem. the top was extremely simple to make even without directions. it took me about two hours start-to-finish. here's the back.

Simple Blouse back
if i made this again, i would put in bust darts to add more shape. otherwise i'm pretty happy with the fit.

now that i've tried the book, i think i could figure out some of the more complicated patterns. i'm hoping to try one of the dresses next.

15 balls Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk DK
Ribbon tied aran from DB Alpaca Silk Two
Riviera sweater from DB Alpaca Silk Two
Shepherd's baby wool
i got my yarn order from spirit work. i bought 15 balls of DB alpaca silk dk in red and the debbie bliss alpaca silk two book. i can't decide whether to do the ribbon tied aran or the riviera sweater. i also got four more balls of shepherd's baby wool on sale. i should have enough now to do the stripey/colorwork pullover.

  1. The ribbon tie one IS cute and unusual, but the second one is really more wearable. I vote for number 2 :)

  2. The blouse is cute and boy that was quick! You could also try long waist darts to shape it if you like.
I can't help you on your sweater decision, they're both pretty. Do both if you can swing it. :-)
