i gots my zephyrstyle

an eggplant ms. marigold bears fruit.
An Eggplant Ms. Marigold
Ms. Marigold back
pattern is ms. marigold from zephyrstyle, using 4 hanks of Classic Elite Premiere on #5 and #3 addi turbos. i knit the body 1 inch shorter than indicated and used #3 circs for the bottom ribbing, but otherwise followed the pattern, smallest size. i did not, however, knit a swatch. i highly suspect that i knit at a tighter gauge than was called for, b/c the finished product is pretty damn tight. i have not yet blocked it, but i think it will probably help.

this pattern wasn't my favorite. there is an awful lot of finishing and weaving of ends for such a small open thing. i'm also not sure that this style is very good for me. it's not a disaster and i'm not crying in my beer, but i'm just not sure that i'll wear it very much. i also did not love the yarn. the cotton/tencel blend is soft to be sure, but it's so wispy and fuzzy and it threatens to pill.

but it's done now. one thing i can cross off the list. that can never be a bad thing.

  1. I think your top looks great. I have purchased this pattern and got some yarn which I started knitting with. But I'm not sure if I really want to use this pattern as I dislike the finishing part (weaving in the ends).

  2. I think it looks great! I have been tempted to make this, but wasn't sure how flattering it would look. I haven't seen anyone else knit it up yet, and I think yours looks terrific! Yay!

  5. Beck couldn't have said it better:

You look good in that sweater / and your addi turbos / I'm gonna mail you a package / I've got a secret pal's touch... oo oo oo, peaches and cream...

    Something like that...
