Done!

Fiery Bolero from Summer IK 2005
Here's my fiery bolero from Summer 2005 Interweave Knits. I loved this pattern--there were only 2 seams to sew. I used approximately 6 skeins of knitpicks andean silk in bluebell to make the smallest size on #5 denise circs and #3 clover bamboo circs.

Fiery Bolero modeled
Sorry for the weird pic of me modeling it. Someday I'll take a better one. Now that winter has come to Western New York, I don't think I'll be wearing this anytime soon. it'll be perfect to whip out when spring comes, though. After frogging my hot lava cardi and using it for this, I have come to the conclusion that I just don't like andean silk. It's itchy, bits of fluff keep coming off, and the yarn just doesn't look that pretty knitted up. but i'm satisfied with this end product. it feels good just to finish something.

I'm also still plugging away at my pink fixation socks. I might actually finish someday soon.

and finally, i returned to the river stole from rowan 38. i figure this is good for several reasons: it's a christmas present for someone besides me, it's a fairly easy lace pattern, it'll give me more experience with knitting lace so i can return to butterfly with more confidence. i did one pattern repeat last night and it went pretty smoothly.

whew! it's been too long since i've taken pictures. but at least i can now comment on forwards progress instead of backwards.
