Ta-da! My Not So Mini Sweater

Here she is in all her glory: Finished Not So Mini Sweater

Oh, you want to see her up close and personal? let me oblige you. Close detail of modified minisweater

You want to see me making a really stupid pose in an effort to counteract the typical "stand in front of the camera shot" but fail in a dismal manner? far be it from me to deprive you of pleasure. Finished Not So Mini Sweater

You want to see the back of the sweater? hell, i'd give you a 360 degree turn if i could. don't tempt me. i might try it. Back of modified minisweater

can you tell i love the results? i started with glampyre's pattern and four hanks of handpaintedyarn.com's handspun bulky in rocha. after completing the raglan increases, i picked up and knit the sleeves in the round to 3/4 length. I then picked up the body stitches and knit down, increases as per glampyre's instructions until it looked like i was increasing too quickly, and then i switched to increasing every 4th row. i knit like this until the side of the wrap reached far enough around and then just knit straight until i was running low on yarn. i bound off loosely, and then crocheted around the garter band with single crochet. the ties are a crochet chain. despite this not being my fave color combo, i really like how it turned out. it's warm and cozy and i cannot wait for winter so i can wear it! i got the yarn on monday. i finished thursday night. woo meeeee!

  1. The sweater looks beautiful on you, and the colors aren't Halloween-y at all! Not many people can pull off an intense orange, but your lovely skintone works with it so well. Way to go!

  4. Ditto what your other SP said! ;)

You should not have been so worried. It's great and the colors are lovely for fall and winter. Nope, no pumkins. More like a wonderful Autumn stroll.

Simpley smashing! ...no pun intended toward the pumpins of the world ;)
