i hate blocking

it took longer than anticipated, but i finished knitting analise last night. i
soaked my sleeves and collar (i already blocked the front and back awhile ago)
and pinned them on my blocking board. and wouldn't you know that my first
attempt would have left me with dreaded gorilla arms? i thought the sleeves
looked awfully long, and fortunately i got out the measuring tape and realized
in time that i was blocking the sleeves to be about 8 inches too long. so i
unpinned and strettttttched the sleeves width-wise, and managed to shave about
6 inches off. and then i did the same for the collar. why did i not do this
in the first place? i have no idea. in addition, my cats are attracted to
wool like white on rice (i have no clue what this actually means--does anybody
have any idea?). you would think that wet wool would dissuade them. you would
be wrong. wyatt kept lounging all over the sleeve as i was trying to pin it.
little bastard. but despite the assistance of my cats, i mananged ok
eventually and now i just have to wait for it to dry and then seam it, and it
will be done!

  1. I think it means that there is no way to separate the white from the rice in white rice... yo can't get it off, in other words.
