I've never felt like this before.

i'm in love.

i have enjoyed working with many yarns, but never have i felt such honest, unassuming emotion towards an inanimate object. i have found my utopia and it is Manos del Uruguay, color 114. i went to my lys on friday afternoon to buy some yarn for my SP. i know that when i go to the yarn store, i keep an open mind to pick up something unexpected that i've never used before. i got yarn for my pal, and some sock yarn, and i was on my way out, when i decided to browse the felting section.

and there it was. such lovely texture, such beautiful colors. words cannot adequately express the way that i have fallen for this yarn. my kitties tried to bat at it, and i swatted their mangy little paws away from my beautifully muted yarn. even my non-knitting roommate envies my choice. i couldn't wait to use it, so i wound a hank into a ball and started my so-called scarf. because i need a scarf in august. i literally cannot put it down. the colors work up so beautifully and i love the thick'n'thin aspect. i only bought two skeins but i might have to go back for more. and the yarn is even inspiring me to buy a new winter coat to match my scarf. yes, i am that pathetic. isn't she beautiful? i need a matching hat. i neeeeeed one.

  1. Hi Sara~

Thanks for ummm, letting me know about the word verification thing. I was actually going to ask someone!

I LOVE the Manos scarf....you do need a hat!

(but I do really need discount cat furniture, have you seen how much they ask for that stuff! Just don't need the spam...)

    Cheers,
    Sarah.

  2. I'm having the same thing happen right now, except it's #109, Woodlands. I love watching this knit up, as you get different colors, then different textures. It's so cool. Your scarf is looking lovely.

  4. Hi Sara,
I have done some search in knitty.com and found that you are working on this scarf. Believe it or not, we use the same color. umm.. lovely color, isn't it? Any way, later I figure out that you are done with this project. I just finished mine last night and have problem with binding off. Can you give any suggestion to this new knitter, please? Mine is here. Thank you.
